The Graffeo Barista Guild is an association of coffee professionals who have completed the Graffeo Coffee Academy’s courses and are actively involved in the training of other baristas through the Academy.
The purpose of the Graffeo Barista Guild is to encourage baristas to keep building on their own technical and personal skill set through teaching others baristas. Confidence and experience are best built through an intimate understanding of the subject matter, and the world of coffee is no exception. Through the Graffeo Barista Guild, our baristas learn the tools and mindset necessary to be successful in not only preparing the best coffee, but in educating customers and colleagues by being a true Ambassador for Coffee.

Tier Levels
All candidates who successfully complete “Introduction”-level courses of the Graffeo Coffee Academy are automatically qualified as an Apprentice in the Graffeo Guild. Apprentices are awarded a personalized apron and welcome gift package that includes coffee and brewing accessories.
Qualification: Successful completion of the “Introduction”-level courses:
- Introduction to Coffee
- Introduction to Brewing Fundamentals
- Introduction to Espresso Fundamentals
- Introduction to Milk Fundamentals
- Introduction to Latte Art Fundamentals
Term: No expiry
Re-qualification: Not applicable
As a Senior Apprentice, you have amassed a number of hours in learning the fundamentals and advanced course material of the Graffeo Coffee Academy. Senior Apprentices are awarded a certificate, a special status band for their personalized apron and a special gift.
Qualification: Apprentice-level standing with successful completion of the “Advanced”-level courses:
- Advanced Espresso Techniques
- Advanced Latte Art Techniques
- Advanced Espresso Bar Management
- Professional Cupping
Term: Valid for 1 year
Re-qualification: To re-qualify for an additional term as a Senior Apprentice, the candidate must attend at least 4 courses as an assistant instructor during their 1 year term.
Upon reaching this distinction, Coffee Masters have truly exhibited a thorough understanding of coffee and espresso preparation. Coffee Masters are awarded a certificate, a special status band for their personalized apron, and a special gift.
Qualification: Senior Apprentice-level standing with successful completion of a written and a practical examination, as well as attendance at one of each “Advanced”-level and “Domestic Brewing” courses as an assistant instructor.
