Cupping is the method of evaluating specific characteristics of particular coffee beans. Cupping varieties of beans permits us to compare and contrast coffee types.
In our Cupping Room we have the industry-leading Marco Über Boiler at our disposal. This unique custom-built water boiler delivers precise temperature water which is controllable to the 0.1°C. Its built-in scale allows accurate control of dispensing water volume, and a count-up timer completes the package. Full control over temperature, volume, and time is essential to the cupping process – so that the true nature of the coffee bean may be evaluated during the tasting.

At our Espresso lab, we have a constantly changing line-up of world-class espresso machines and grinders at our disposal, including semi-automatic models from Unic, Elektra, La Cimbali, and Nuova Simonelli and super-automatic models from Unic, Jura, and Franke. Our showcase espresso machine, the 2010 World Barista Championship Limited Edition Nuova Simonelli Aurelia Competizione , was one of the three machines actually used during the 2010 WBC in London and was specifically designed to meet the standards of the WBC.

Our Cupping Room and Espresso Lab is open to the public and is available for any interested coffee lovers to explore the flavor of Graffeo. We have regularly coffee tastings (cuppings) at our Coffee Academy.
